Maggie De Vries photoMaggie de Vries is the author of ten books including Governor-General-Award nominated Missing Sarah: a Memoir of Loss, which tells the story of her search for her sister, Sarah, after Sarah went missing. Maggie has served on the board of PACE Society, run a book club for women on the downtown eastside, and is now serving as writing coach for a group of sex workers and allies who are working on their own stories and volunteering with a feminist sex-workers’ rights group, FIRST: Decriminalize Sex Work.

Maggie has been speaking about sex work for fifteen years, and she recently gave a TEDxSFU talk entitled The Red Umbrella: Sex Work, Stigma and the Law.
